Getting Ready to go to Church

Good Sunday morning,
Hope all is well. Well the Travelin' Our Way gang is back together. We have been a complete family since October 19. T-Man made it home and has fully enjoyed being back. He is excited to spend time with the kids and play Teenage Ninja Turtles. He got two weeks off from work and went back. They had a great sign on their gate welcoming him home. The kids have been excited to have him home also. We all are sleeping a little better and now they have some one to wrestle with and play "guys". The kids and I all started new schools this year. What a blessing for all of us! The A-Man helped with the football team and received a certificate of appreciation and gift certificate for his help. Scooter has been working as a student ambassador for his school; kind of like student council. Shortey has been enjoying his new school. He is learning some much. He is writing letters and numbers and so much more. T-Man is also planning to attend school during the Winter/Spring semester. I am so excited for him. He never had the chance to go before and now is looking forward to going.

Well, we are off. We will try to do better on updating this blog. Hope all is well with everyone.
All our best,
Travelin' Our Way gang :)

Almost Done!!!

Well, it is the eve of my presentation and last class for my grad program. I will be done with my Ed. Specialist program. YEAH!!!! Seriously, this is almost like Christmas Eve. You know how you are excited and can't wait to open your presents the next day. I can't wait to hand everything over and be done. I am thankful for everyone who has helped us out in any way. With the T-man hanging out on the perpetual beach, I have really had to rely on a lot of people. There is not enough in the world to thank everyone enough. THANK YOU!!!

So, I decided I should start keeping record of the thought provoking comments that Scooter says. Here is just some of the things stated over the last week or so:
1. While walking past the empty sanctuary with the lights out, "There's nobody talking to God"
2. While walking past the empty sanctuary with the lights on, "There's nobody listening to God."
3. After using the restroom, "DUDE, will you come wipe my bottom."
4. After using the restroom, "Aren't you so happy?"
5. After seeing a cricket in our yard, "...then the lizard crunched the cricket. It was cool."
6. After twisting off the handle to the closet, "I didn't do anything."
7. After hearing me say that the light bulb went out, "Where did it go? We go get another one at the light bulb store."
8. While eating dinner, "Whose your cute baby?"
9. Right before falling asleep, "I'm not your pumpkin, I'm your cute baby."

Okay, keeping you up to date on our lovely vehicles. Really, I think I will be a certified mechanic once T-man is back in town. I will be able to tell you anything you want to know when your car isn't working right. I am sure we have had it happen to our cars this entire year. Anyway, recently had the smaller car in the shop to replace the entire driver side rear brake drum after the whole thing broke up into pieces. Or something like that. Let's just say there was loud metal clanging together and then the car wouldn't move more than a few yards without stopping. AND Yes, was on my way to one of my first meetings at my new job. Have quit driving the other because I am afraid the transmission is going to go out while on the road. Then I'd have to call one of you to come get me. I am saving all of us some time and gas. :) I have promised T-man that I will get the transmission replaced before he comes home.

If you have never seen "Facing the Giants", YOU SHOULD! It is a good moral story and a great story of faith. T-man had just watched it a couple weeks ago and then the pastor used it in the sermon on Sunday. We have agreed that we are like the coach and the kid doing that crazy crawl down the field. Right now, T-man is the coach yelling at me telling me to keep going. I know I have been the coach for T-man when he's been the player. No matter how we see ourselves in it, I really suggest watching it.

Well, done rambling. I hope everyone is doing okay. Take care and talk later.

What's Up???

Well, it has been a long time since I have taken the time to blog something. I guess because maybe not much has been going on. The boys continue to be busy. Shortey went to Boy Scout camp. He had a good time. The A-Man has finished his first session of summer school for the high school. He know has a full credit of high school credit out of the way. Scooter has just been hanging out with me, unless he goes to school for a few hours. We did break away for some time at a local amusement park. It was a lot of fun. I have been finishing up my graduate program. It is nice to be almost done. The T-Man is still doing well. He has been "promoted" in duty, not rank. OH WELL! He is busier than ever, but enjoying it somewhat. He is just ready to be back home. I got a note from him today. He said he couldn't wait to get back to his regular job; more physical activity, which he likes, and obviously closer to home.

Okay, for the highlights of our last 24 hours. I was working on my projects, putting finishing touches on them, and I went upstairs. Scooter came up with me. When we came back down the stairs, there was a baby snake at the bottom of the stairs. I screamed; it went behind the curtain. Needless to say, we slept upstairs. I did try to get our cat to meow at it and catch it. That didn't work so well. I even ran the vacuum by the curtain and door, hoping this would scare it away. SO, I called a "critter catcher" today. It was going to be $200+ to have them look around my house for this snake, catch it, and set traps for others. I decided to go buy a weed eater and my own traps; $40. I got home and got out the mower. As I was mowing the backyard, I ran over a piece of ski rope, which is now completely tangled around the blade of my mower. I turned the mower over to untangle it, but the mower bagan smoking so bad and making a noise, I was sure it would blow up or catch on fire. Then it began to rain hard. I think the snake went back home because I have seen it all day. I tell you what, now I need to get a new mower, a varment catcher, and a new door without cracks. I don't want to know what other adventures I will get to deal with while it is just me and the boys. Hopefully, tomorrow will be dry so I can lay out the sticky traps along my back door. OH I can't wait to see what gets stuck on those. FABULOUS!

Well, I hope everyone is doing well. Talk with you later.

Summer is Finally Here!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well! I know the T-Man is good. He is working some different hours, but that is fine. We are trying to decide how our schedule is going to work now that I am off work for the summer. I also got a list of the guys that I now plan to send fun treats for that work in his office. I call one of them MR BIG because his nickname is very similar to that; not sure that he would understand that reference, but it is fun just the same.

Yesterday we got our new furniture. All the boys thought it would be fun to break it in. It is very comfy and the T-Man has gotten his sectional. Scooter thinks it is a trampoline for jumping and doing stunts. I don't think daddy is going to be very happy with that. The A-Man was playing Superman with him yesterday and they were "landing" on the couch. Also, very misleading being shown in a store that is 500 times bigger than my living room. I was just sure that it would only take up the same amount of space as our previous couch and recliner. HA! I had to remove other furniture so that we would have walking space in our living room. Oh well!

Anyway, very random, but I talked with Texas Sarah the other night. She was sharing a graduation she attended with some friends. My favorite phrase was that she felt a bit overdressed as many of the mothers were dressed "Hooker Casual"! HAHAHA! I told her this was the best describing phrase I had ever heard.

Finally, today I was reading a news piece on a website and saw this story and video about a couple who tried to mimic a couple in Arizona. The tried to spend 24 hours only 15 feet apart. If you have time, first pause the music from my playlist and then watch the video attached here on the blog and read their story. The written story can be found at http://slatev.com/ . It is quite interesting. Makes you think about just how some people choose to live their lives rather interestingly.

Before I close, check out the pic of the rainbow we saw the other day. PRETTY! Scooter wanted to go out the next morning to see it again. He just didn't get it that it went bye, bye.

Sunday Morning

Hey All~
I know haven't even invited you yet, so even though this is the 2nd entry, it is the first for you. Anyway, got up this morning and talked with the T-Man. He was working some crazy hours the next couple days. BUT, he told me I needed to get my transmisssion fluid changed.

Well, I decided to take care of that after church. Scooter and I got to church. First, don't you love it when kids say things that are so sweet? Well, Scooter looked at the church going in and pointed to the cross on the building and said "That is God. And we tell him thank you." It made me smile.

Anyway, after church we went to our local Lube place and asked them to fill up the transmission fluid. They were VERY nice to me and they continued to be very nice to me. One of the guys even winked at me. Thinking inside that they were just being super sweet, I was glad I took it to them. Then when driving off, I felt a breeze. I looked down and my shirt was unbuttoned in a GREAT location. FABULOUS, I say! I guess gave them something to talk about the rest of the day! Anyway, just one of those days when you have to laugh, because they also told me that they thought I might need a new transmission.

Here is what I have learned in my life. God will provide a way, even if it is not the way we planned.

Hope your weekend is great!

First Steps

Okay, my friend Sarah has me hooked on this blog thing, SO, I thought we would start one for our family. I am learning, so please be patient. I called Sarah tonight and she helped with the music piece. I included some of our favorite songs. It might seem random, but each song has some meaning to us. I will continue to add more. Right now I think there are about 24 songs. Feel free to look through and listen to what you'd like. If you have any tips, feel free to share them with me.

T-Man is doing fine. He says it is 100+ degrees everyday. He is trying to run or some exercise. I just sent another two boxes of stuff for him. He loves John Wayne and westerns, so I sent over a couple more of those. He also loves Strwberry Frosted Mini Wheats. Just a few favs from home. The guys that he is with love the flavored Oreos that we send over. One of the guys lives close to us. I hope one day to meet him. BUT, because not a lot of exercising is going on, I have been asked to send healthier snacks and treats. This time I sent canned and dried fruit. I am betting he will probably ask for other types of snacks again in the future. I am attaching the picture of the camels that he had the pleasure of seeing. Maybe he can bring one home. HA! I am sure little Scooter would love that.

Shortey had a field trip the other day. It was FAB!!! We went to a state park in the middle of an ongoing rain storm. It was a good time, though, and later he told me he was glad I went. I am sure it was especially funny for him and his classmates when they scared me with Mr. S's pet corn snakes. Yes, I jumped and moved quickly away from the snakes. This is why I do not teach anything requiring live animals in my classroom.

The A-Man is prepping for his summer school classes and working as a videographer for the football team. I am really pumped for him. He is also continuing his golf expeditions.

Speaking of Scooter, we have run errands today. Lots of fun. We are getting ready to head out again. I will keep updating this blog when I can. Stay safe and dry this weekend. Hope it is wonderful.
